Stephen Nolan

Stephen Nolan is the CEO of the tech company Nutritics – a leader in the food production technologies, winner of the EY Entrepreneur of Year Award Ireland for the 2022 category of ecological sustainability. The award is a recognition of leadership, strong and successful vision, high potential, resourcefulness, and a dynamic approach, and it’s granted to enterprises with the biggest contribution in innovations, focused on meeting the global ecological challenges.

According to calculations, the information that Foodprint provides will reduce the carbon emissions from prepared meals with about 13%, and in 2023 it contributed to the removal of 27 million kilograms of CO2 from the environment. That amounts to the removal of 21 000 automobiles, or the planting of 1.6 million trees.

Stephen Nolan describes Nutritics as a company driven by values. For him, the main challenge (as well as opportunity) of our time is climate change and emphasises that in order to achieve the goals that we have set, we collectively need to make serious adjustments. In the food sector this is especially important since it is responsible for a third of the global green gas emissions. Hence, redefining our menus is a step in the right direction.

His advice for future entrepreneurs is not to hesitate, because once started, there is no going back.
