The 2024 edition of the DesignEuropa Awards ceremony will take place in Riga.
Riga, Latvia, the Art Nouveau capital of the world, has emerged over the last decade as a centre for great Baltic design, with the establishment of the Latvian Design Centre and the success of events such as the Riga Design Walk (organised by the SEGD, Society for Experimental Graphic Design) over the last number of years serving as proof of its incredible promise.
This forthcoming edition follows on from the success of previous editions in Milan (Italy), Warsaw (Poland) and Eindhoven (the Netherlands).The 2023 edition, took place in Berlin, Germany, and awarded prizes to RemigoOne, the electric outboard, Smeg’s full automatic espresso coffee machine and Swedish designer, Maria Benktzon, renowned for her inclusive designs.
EUIPO organises the DesignEuropa Awards to celebrate excellence in design and design management among holders of Registered Community Designs (RCDs). The DesignEuropa Awards 2024 application period is now open—submit your favourite innovative designs today!
The DesignEuropa Awards categories are:
- The Industry Award: For designs from large and medium-sized businesses.
- The Entrepreneurs and Small Companies Award: Aimed at designs from small companies as well as from recently established companies, regardless of their size.
- The Lifetime Achievement Award: Reserved for designers with a significant body of work, developed over the course of a career, who have had a considerable impact on the field of design.
This edition EUIPO id thrilled to unveil another exciting addition to the DesignEuropa Awards 2024 - a brand-new for category for young designers, the Next Generation Design Award! This new category will be exclusively dedicated to young and emerging talent up to 29 years old. This category aims to recognise and elevate the contributions of young designers who have demonstrated exceptional creativity and promise.
This year, the application period runs from 13 December 2023 to 15 March 2024.
