Nicki Hoyne

In 2014 she created her first own business – an online fashion accessories website – My Shining Armour. Nicki Hoyne - Irish designer and founder of the Nicki Hoyne slow fashion luxury brand of the same name. She was born in Kilkenny, Ireland and initially studied Theatre Arts, but then headed to the Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology. There, Nicki discovered her great passion – sustainable design.

Her professional career begins with working for big brands of the likes of Diageo, Nintendo, Marc Jacobs and Balenciaga in Dublin, London and Australia. In 2020, she created her first independent handbag collection. A year later, she expanded her activities to include shoemaking. Her designs are inspired by her love of nature, art and contemporary fashion. 

Ecological sustainability is a key value for the Nicki Hoyne brand. The designer aims at inspiring people to value and appreciate fashion as opposed to just ‘using’ it. She is trying to make her brand entirely ecological by using environmentally friendly materials suppliers and manufacturing processes.
