With IP, we can dream of a better future, turn our ideas into reality and create a world where everyone thrives to achieve the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In early 2024, we called on people around the world to submit a 60 to 90-second video that showcases how an inventor, creator, entrepreneur, or local community near you is shaping a better future for all with innovation, creativity, and intellectual property (IP) rights. More than 475 people participated in the World Intellectual Property Day 2024 Youth Video Competition.
Participants from Brazil, Bulgaria, Indonesia and Nigeria emerged as the top 4 winners:
A group of first-year students from Bulgaria led by Aleksandar Petrov won the third prize for their video “My Ideas Are Important”
A Brazilian Technological Innovation Center submission led by Roberta Saldanha Alves won the second prize for their video “Art of Touch: Expanding the Horizons”.
A team from Nigeria led by Idamiebi Ilamina Eremie won the first prize for their short film “Koyamu: Accessible Early Education for African Children Using Storytelling and IP”.
Hayunda Lail Zahara from Indonesia won the People's Choice Prize for her video “Kauman’s Batik”.
