Joint EUIPO and CPVO Seminar: 30 Years of Incentivising Innovation

How will the EU IP Action Plan impact the Single Market? What is the future of IP in the context of Artificial Intelligence? How will new legislation and counterfeiting challenges shape the IP landscape? 

Join EUIPO on 19 September 2024 for 30 Years of Innovation: Celebrating Intellectual Property Together*,* a seminar co-organised by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO) and the Community Plant Variety Office (CPVO).

The seminar also marks the 30th anniversary of the EUIPO and the CPVO and will provide valuable insights for legal professionals, innovators, plant breeders, business owners and national administration officials. Experts from various backgrounds will discuss how intellectual property rights (IPR) promote sustainability and create a positive societal impact, highlighting the crucial role of IP in fostering innovation.

Seminar highlights

Session 1 - It’s all about strategy: The IP filing strategies will be explained from different perspectives (legal private practice, breeders and administration).

Session 2 - EU IP Action Plan and Single market - a glimpse into the future: The panel is mainly about the IP challenges ahead represented by the new laws (Design reform and Craft GIs).

Session 3 - Sustainability and IP: The experts will reveal how sustainability interacts with different IP rights, such as GIs, designs, trade marks and plant varieties.

Session 4 - Artificial Intelligence (AI) - a game changer?: The panel will debate the challenges and benefits of artificial intelligence for IP protection and related workflows.
